Effects of Stress on the Body

Just about everyone knows that stress is hard on the body.  According to Kathy Matt, ASU (Arizona State University) professor of neuroendocrinology and director of the ASU Stress Center, “Medical researchers have linked chronic stress to some of the leading causes of death and illness among humans, including heart disease, diabetes, and neurological diseases.  Between 75 and 90 percent of all visits to a physician are for stress-related complaints.”   Matt also says that cortisol is the culprit that destroys your memory and waistline.
